The star girl of Nigerian athletics, Favour Ofili looks to be telling those who deliberately failed to register her for the 100m event at the Paris 2024 Olympics how foolish they are when she stormed home first in 10.99 to win the blue ribband race at the 2025 LSU Alumni Gold on Saturday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The 22-year-old looks to have equally sent a message to her rivals for the $100,000 top prize money in next week’s Grand Slam Track that she is ready to become the first Nigerian to win as much $100,000 in a race.

At the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, Ese Brume made a return to the track for the first in eight months and after recovering from a car accident to place third in the women’s long jump event.
The 29 year old Nigerian leapt a distance of 6.36m behind reigning World indoor and Olympic champion, Tara Davis-Woodhall who won with her first round leap of 6.75m while another American, Sydney Willits was third (6.54m).
In the Shot Put, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi failed to hit the 21m mark as he finished seventh with his 20.37m third round effort.
