ITTF, WTT Unveil Packed 2027 International Table Tennis Calendar
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and World Table Tennis (WTT) have unveiled the 2027 international table tennis calendar, featuring the sport’s biggest global competitions, including the World Cups, World Championships and a packed WTT professional circuit across four continents.
A major addition to the calendar is the inaugural ITTF Doubles World Cup, scheduled for April 19 to 25. The competition will feature the men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles events, bringing all three disciplines together at World Cup level for the first time.
The event comes ahead of the return of men’s and women’s doubles to the Olympic programme at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
The ITTF Singles World Cup will take place in March, followed by the ITTF World Championships Finals in May in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The ITTF Mixed Team World Cup will be held in late November, offering the world’s leading teams an opportunity to qualify for the mixed team event’s Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028, while the ITTF World Youth Championships will round off the major international events in mid-December.
The WTT calendar will also feature a busy programme, beginning with WTT Champions in Asia from January 19 to 24, followed by the Singapore Smash from February 18 to 28 and WTT Champions Chongqing from March 9 to 14.
The United States Smash will take place from June 25 to July 4, while a demanding six-week period across August and September will feature Europe Smash, WTT Champions Astana, WTT Champions Japan, WTT Champions Asia and China Smash. WTT Champions France will follow from November 2 to 7 before the season concludes with the WTT Finals in Hong Kong, China, from December 7 to 12.
ITTF President and WTT Chair Petra Sörling said the 2027 season would be an ambitious and historic one for the sport.
‘2027 is shaping up to be an ambitious year for our sport,’ Sörling said. ‘The ITTF World Championships will take place in Kazakhstan for the first time, while the ITTF Doubles World Cup will give players a brand-new pinnacle event to aim for on the road to the LA28 Olympics.’
She added that the WTT Series would continue to drive the professional season through its Grand Smash and Champions events, culminating in the WTT Finals, as the two organisations seek to bring elite table tennis to more players and engage fans around the world.
