Iwobi, Awoniyi market values soar; Ndidi drops yet again
Aribo, Onuachu, Dennis and Onyeka's values drop; Iheanacho in marginal rise
Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi and Nothingham Forest forward, Taiwo Awoniyi’s market values expectedly rose following their impressive campaign in the
recently ended 2022/23 season while Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi’s value dropped for the fourth straight time following transfermarkt’s Premier League
market values.
Iwobi who made history as the second Nigerian player and first since the 2006/2007 season to start all 38 Premier League games in a season had an impressive
2022/23 season, scoring twice and bagged seven assists the joint most by a Nigerian player in a single Serie A season.
The 27 year old is now valued at €28m, up from the €25m he was worth in November last year.
Iwobi’s market value has been on the rise since it fell to €18m in December 2021. It rose to €22m in September 2022 and and €25m two months after before the
latest increase.
Awoniyi came to the Premier League with a €20m valuation following his transfer from his loan spell at Union Berlin of Germany and rose to €25m at the close
of his debut season in the English topflight.
The 25 year old scored 11 times in 30 appearances for Nothingham Forest. It was his 10 goals in 27 Premier League games that helped the club from returning
the Championships.
Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho’s market value which stagnated at a personal record high of €20m between June 2021 and June 2022 before crashing to
€17m in November 2022, finally rose by €1m to €18m after the latest review.
Iheanacho’s Nigerian compatriot at the King Power stadium, Ndidi’s value however crashed for the fourth straight time.
Ndidi, 26, reached a career high of €60m between June 2021 to June 2022 before the downward slide started in September 2021 to €50m, €40m in November of the
same year and €32m last March.
Ndidi, who had his worst season since he came to England in January 2017 is now worth €25m in the latest valuation.
Joe Aribo (€15m to €11m), Frank Onyeka (€9m to €8m), Paul Onuachu (€17m to €13m) and Emmanuel Dennis (€10m to €8m) all had their market values drop after an indifferent season.
