Iwobi Backs Fulham to Build on First Premier League Win

Alex Iwobi is confident Fulham can revive their Premier League campaign after scoring the decisive goal in their hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hull City at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
The Nigeria international’s first-half strike secured Fulham’s first league win of the season, ending their frustrating winless run and giving the London club a much-needed boost.
Iwobi believes the result can provide the foundation for a turnaround, insisting Fulham’s performances had often been better than their results suggested.
‘The win was a long time coming. We have performed well even though the results spoke otherwise,’ Iwobi told Fulham TV.
‘The manager has asked us to keep going, and hopefully the luck will go our way. It has now started, so we just have to kick on and use this momentum for the rest of the season.’
Despite securing all three points, the midfielder admitted Fulham could have made the victory more comfortable by converting more of their chances.
‘It was a convincing performance, even though the criticism, even for me, is that we could have scored more goals,’ he added.
“As long as we’re creating the opportunities, we will score more goals.’
Iwobi also highlighted the importance of defensive solidity, pointing to Fulham’s clean sheet against Hull as a key factor in their ability to secure victories.
‘If we’re able to keep clean sheets like we did against Hull City, it will give us a chance to win games,’ he said.
