Iwobi Beaten To Fulham Man Of The Match Honour

Alex Iwobi may have scored a brace to help Fulham to a comprehensive 5-0 defeat of Nothingham Forest on Wednesday night but the Nigerian was not adjudged the
best player for the host by their fans.

The 27 year old was voted the second best, getting 20.9% of fans who voted on Fulham FC’s official website while Raul Jimenez was voted the Man of the Match
with a staggering 48.2% of the votes.

Tom Cairney who had another dazzling display in the middle of the park, and came in third with 19.8% of the vote.

Iwobi nets first ever Premier League brace, equals personal season’s scoring record

Iwobi’s brace was the Nigerian’s first ever in the Premier League since he made his debut in the competition to bring his total Premier League tally to 20 in
234 appearances.

The 27 year old has now scored three times in the Premier League this season in only 11 games to equal his personal season’s best of three achieved twice in
2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons.

He has moved joint level (ninth) with Victor Moses in the Nigerian Premier League top scorers’ chart.

Interestingly, Iwobi is yet to provide any assist this season after making history last term as the Nigerian with the most assist (7) in a Premier League
season.

His 27 overall is the second best provided by a Nigerian in the history of the competition behind the 29 of Arsenal legend, Nwankwo Kanu.

The Nigerian will now be looking to score his first hat-trick in the competition and in English football since he started playing for the Arsenal senior team
in 2015.
