Iwobi: Bring On Man United!

Nigerian says Toffees ‘don’t fear’ fear Red Devils

Alex Iwobi insists Everton have nothing to fear as they face the fight of their lives to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

A 3-2 defeat against Burnley on Wednesday night saw the club firmly clawed into the basement battle, with Frank Lampard’s side currently sitting just one point above the drop zone.

The Toffees face a tough run of fixtures, starting with Saturday’s clash at home to Manchester United.

While a clash with United will be seen as a huge challenge for the struggling Merseysiders, Iwobi is quietly confident that his side can pull off a result.

He told talkSPORT: “I feel like we have respect for every opponent that we play. We have different tactics for every team, but we don’t go into any game with any fear.

“We have a game plan and we try to stick with it. I’m sure we’ll come up with something for United.

“We’ve been able to get results the last two times we’ve played against them, even away at Old Trafford.

“At home, hopefully we’ll be able to do something and grab a result.”

Iwobi will be seeking to score his first goal and second win in 11 appearances across all competitions against the visitors.

The 25 year old will make his 14th start in 20 Premier League games so far this term and fourth start in nine games in the competition against the Red Devils.
