Iwobi equals Kanu’s assists record, secures 100th Premier League win

Alex Iwobi has finally equalled Nwankwo Kanu’s Premier League assists record of 29 by a Nigerian after the 28 year old sets up Brazilian, Andreas Pereira to
finish from just yards out for Fulham’s second goal in their 2-0 defeat of West Ham at the London stadium.

It was the Fulham midfielder’s second assist of the season with both coming against West Ham. It was also his sixth in 14 appearances against the London
side.

Iwobi has now joined Kanu as the Nigerian with the most assists in Premier League history, three above Yakubu Aiyegbeni in second and four more than Kelechi
Iheanacho in third.

Fulham’s victory with Iwobi in action for 74 minutes was also the Nigerian’s 100th in 248 Premier League appearances since he made a winning debut against
Swansea in October 2015.

Iwobi has now become the fifth Nigerian in Premier League history to record a century of Premier League wins after Chelsea legend, Mikel Obi who tops the
list with 149 wins in 249 appearances.

Mikel is followed by former Arsenal star, Kanu who has 113 wins in 273games with Shola Ameobi third with 105 wins in 298 games and Victor Moses fourth with
103 wins in 220 Premier League appearances.

Last week Iwobi supplanted Mikel as the Nigerian that has played the most minutes in the history of the competition and he is also the most subbed of
Nigerian in the Premier League with his latest on 74 minutes against West Ham the 105th he would be taken off a game.

The former Arsenal man is just one game away from equalling Mikel’s 249 appearances in the Premier League and make him the joint fourth most featured
Nigerian after Ameobi (298), Kanu (273) and Aiyegbeni (252).
