Iwobi: How I deceived Onana to score Fulham winner Vs Man United

Alex Iwobi has described how he deceived Manchester United goalkeeper, André Onana to score Fulham’s second goal and winner in the 97th minute of their
Premier Leagu clash at Old trafford at the weekend.

The Nigerian netted his second goal in 13 Premier League games against the Red Devils and it was the first that earned his club all three points.

Asked by Premier League Productions whether he targeted Onana at the front post for his goal and the 27 year old Nigerian replied in the affirmative.

“I feel like I knew I could see where he was when I took my first touch. I knew he might have thought I was going to wrap it into the far post, but I slotted
it near post and he didn’t see it coming.

‘I haven’t seen his reaction, but everyone is saying he wasn’t able to move, so a goal is a goal and we move on to the next.’

The goal ensured Fulham’s first win at Old Trafford in 21 years and Iwobi’s third win against the Red Devils in 16 games across all competitions.

For his overall effort, the 27 year old former Arsenal and Everton star was voted by Fulham supporters as their best player in the game while the official

Premier League website also named him the overall man of the match.

Iwobi was also named among the front three in football statistics website, Whoscored’s team of the week.
