Iwobi: Osimhen has asked me about the Premier League

Everton midfielder, Alex Iwobi has revealed his Super Eagles colleague and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen has asked him about the Premier League.

Iwobi disclosed this in an interview on The Beautiful Game Podcast.

‘He has asked. All of them ask. I am sure he probably has the ambition to play in the Premier League,’ Iwobi revealed.

Osimhen has scored 25 goals in 29 games across all competitions so far this term for Napoli and his 21 goals in 23 Serie A games is the highest ever scored by a Nigerian and joint highest by an African in a single Serie A season.

The 24 year old is also the top scoring player in the competition and will likely become the firts African to be crowned top scorer in a single Serie A season.

A number of Premier League clubs led by Man United, Chelsea Arsenal and Newcastle United have been linked with the Nigeria.

German Bundesliga side, Bayern Munich, Ligue 1 giants PSG and the LaLiga duo of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are also believed to be interested in the Nigerian.

Osimhen however seems interested in moving to the Premier League if he is to leave Napoli.

“I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world (Serie A) is an amazing feeling for me.

‘A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I’m in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A.

“I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League someday but, like I said, it’s a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well,’ Osimhen was quoted as saying recently.
