Iwobi out to stop Arsenal from setting English football record against Everton

Can former Arsenal player, Alex Iwobi stop the Gunners from earning a fresh slice of English football history when they face Everton in Saturday lunchtime’s Premier League clash at Goodison Park.?

Arsenal will be facing an Everton side languishing in 19th in the table and winless in nine matches and Iwobi, who netted 15times in 149 Premier League games for the north London will be seeking to impress his new boss, Sean Dyche with a performance capable of not only denting his former side’s Premier League ambition but also stop them from setting a huge record against his team.

The blue half of Merseyside in particular hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Mikel Arteta’s side in recent times, with only two wins claimed from their last 10 trips to the Goodison Park.

The table-topping Gunners are however looking to become the first team to register 100 wins against a single opponent for the first time in English league history.

Arsenal are also aiming to win five consecutive away league games by at least two goals for the first time since October 1953.

Iwobi left Arsenal in August 2019 and has featured five times against the Gunners since then without scoring or bagging an assist.

He started all the 20 games he has featured in this term under former manager, Frank Lampard and will be hoping to start under the new manager.
