Iwobi remains Nigeria’s top tackler in the Premier League

Everton man also leads on assists list as Aribo overtakes Ndidi

Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi remains the best Nigerian top tackler in the Premier League after eight rounds of games.

The 26 year old has been a standout performer in the Toffees’ current six-match unbeaten run.

His total of 18 successful tackles is the third best by an Everton player so far this season. It also ranks him as the 19th best in the Premier League.

Southampton’s Joe Aribo is surprisingly ranked the second Nigerian who has made the most successful tackles (15) ahead of Wilfred Ndidi (14), the two-time Premier League top tackler of the year.

Iwobi also tops in the assists list by a Nigerian and joint fourth among all nationalities in the Premier League.

The Everton midfielder has supplied an assist in three of their last four fixtures.

As a result, he has already surpassed his total of two assists from the previous campaign.

The underlying numbers show Iwobi’s influence on Everton’s attack.

He has also created 16 chances this season, at least five more than any team-mate.
