Iwobi seeks fifth goal involvement, second win at Anfield against Liverpool

Alex Iwobi will be looking to score his first goal against Liverpool when he files out with Fulham against the Reds at the the dread Anfield Sunday afternon.

The Nigerian will also be aiming for his second win at the same venue as he hopes to score his second Premier League goal of the season after netting in the 3-2 defeat of Wolves last week at Craven Cottage.

Iwobi has won just once and bagged four assists in 12 Premier League games against Liverpool since he first featured against the Reds in Arsenal’s 4-3 loss at the Emirates in August 2016.

The 27 year old recorded his only victory against Liverpool after he switched the red of Arsenal for the blue of Everton in 2019, featuring for just four minutes in February 2021 behind closed doors.

Iwobi will also be seeking to provide another assist and make Liverpool the Premier League team he has provided most assists against.

It will also take his overall assists to 28, one more than Yakubu Aiyegbeni in third and one behind Nwankwo Kanu who holds the record of the most assists by a Nigerian in the Premier League.

He has featured in 232 games since he made his debut in the Premier League in October 2015 and has netted 18 times.
