Iwobi targets fifth goal involvement, sixth win in 10 games Vs Palace

Alex Iwobi will be seeking to score his third goal in six games against Crystal Palace at Selhurts Park on Saturday in their Premier League matchweek six tie.

The Nigerian joined Fulham during the last transfer window and played his first game for the Cottaggers last weekend when he came on for Harrison Reed on 62 minutes in the 1-0 defeat of Premier League newcomers, Luton Town at Craven Cottage.

Iwobi will not only be seeking to make his full debut for Fulham on Saturday, he will also be looking to either score or provide an assist to help his club to victory.

The last time the Nigerian visited Selhurts Park, he returned with Everton with a point after helping the Toffees to a 3-0 win in their first meeting last season.

The 27 year old scored twice in the encounter last october and he will aiming for a repeat performance on Saturday.

In the two games Iwobi provided assists against Palace while at Arsenal, the Gunners went on to win. A goal or an assist on Saturday will be his fifth in 10 games against the Eagles.

He has also won five of the nine games he has featured against Palace and will be seeking his sixth in 10 appearances.

Meanwhile, Fulham boss, Marco Silva says he is wary of the threat posed by Eberechi Eze in Saturday’s game.

Eze has featured in all of Palace’s five Premier League games so far this term, scoring once in the 3-2 defeat of Wolves early this month.

”Crystal Palace are a quality team, well managed as well by Roy (Hodgson), and it’s going to be nice to see him back in the dugout again.
‘Quality players, individual quality players up front who can decide a game in any moment of the match.

‘The quality in their attack line is in a very good level, with a player behind the striker who is, in my opinion, a top, top player, [Ebere] Eze, who is always a difference on the pitch,’ said Silva.
