Iwobi targets first goal, first assist against Tottenham Hotspur

Nigerian also seeks 85th Premier League win in 193 appearances

Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi will be seeking for his first goal and first assist against Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Saturday when both sides clash in a Premier League matchweek 11 fixture.

The Nigerian scored his first goal in 12 appearances against Manchester United last week and the 26 year old will be hoping to end his barren run in front of goal against the north London side.

Iwobi has featured eight times in the competition against their host, winning and losing twice with four draws. If he plays and the Toffees win, it will be the Super Eagles 85th win in the competition.

It will also be Everton’s second win in 20 Premier League meetings, last beating Tottenham in 2020. The Nigerian was not in the matchday squad list that day with Dominic Calvert-Lewin heading home the winner on 55 minutes.

Iwobi has featured 107 times since he switched the Emirates stadium in north London for the Goodison Park in August 2019. He has scored scored eight times and bagged 11 assists.

In the Premier League he has made 92 appearances for the Toffees and scored five times.

Overall, he has featured 192 times in the competition, scored 16 goals and bagged 23 assist.
