Joe Aribo’s Southampton interested in Terem Moffi

Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Lorient’s Nigerian striker Terem Moffi when the transfer market opens in January.
The club are keen to bolster their squad with the new additions to help Nathan Jones in the second half of the season, with Saints currently bottom of the Premier
League and facing an uphill battle to survive relegation.
According to HampshireLive, a news outlet in Southampton, the Saints are prioritising a striker in the window after they failed to adequately address their deficiencies up front during the summer.
Moffi who has scored 10 times in 15 appearances for Lorient so far this term has been on the club’s radar for some time, though they may now decide to make a move for the Nigerian this winter.
The 23-year-old joined Lorient in October 2020 and made an instant impact at the club, scoring and assisting on his Ligue 1 debut in a 3-1 away win over Stade Reims. He then went nine league games without a goal before finding the net again against OGC Nice, scoring in each of the next four games including in a 3-2 home win over PSG.
A hat-trick against Bordeaux in April 2021 meant he finished his debut season in France with 15 goals in 34 games, making him Lorient’s top goalscorer and helping the
club finish 16th in their first season back in Ligue 1.
Overall, he has scored 32 goals in 84 games across all seasons in the Ligue 1 for Lorient and 33 goals in 87 appearances across all competitions.
