Josh Maja extends goal drought to 12 games

On loan Stoke City forward Josh Maja has fired blanks for the 12th straight game in the Skybet Championship in England.

The 23 year old was on from the start at the City Ground where his club Stoke City defeated their host, Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park.

The Nigerian, restored to the starting line up after two consecutive substitute appearances provided the assist for the only goal of the game on 23 minutes.

It was his third assist of the season in 14 Skybet Championship games and also third in 31 games since he made his debut in the competition in December 2017 for Sunderland.

Maja, who joined Stoke City on loan from Ligue 1 side, Bordeaux in the winter transfer window has scored just once since his arrival at the Bet365 stadium.

The goal came in his second game for the club, the 2-2 draw at Notthingham Forward in February.
