Kanu, Arteta: Wenger opened the EPL to the world in a different way to other managers

Former Arsenal player, Nwankwo Kanu and current Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta have hailed the impact Arsene Wenger had on the Premier League since his arrival in 1996 following the Frenchman’s induction into the Premier League Hall of Fame alongside former Man United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Kanu who featured for Arsenal under Wenger and scored 44 goals in 196 appearances across all competitions with 30 of the goals coming in 119 matches in the Premier League took to twitter to hail the Frenchman as the best.

For Arteta who was once a player under Wenger, no other manager has had the kind of impact Arsene Wenger had on the Premier League.

The Spaniard says the influence of Wenger not only helped to revolutionise Arsenal but the Premier League as we know it today.

‘I don’t think any other managers have had more impact,’ Arteta said in an exclusive interview with the Premier League website.

“Some managers have brought different ideas, different characters, different competitions. He opened the Premier League to the world in a different way to other managers. He had a vision that was much wider than any other manager had at the time.

“England and the Premier League have to be very grateful for ever to this man.”
