Kenneth Igboke: It’s a privilege to appear in Rangers’ colours
Rangers International F.C’s new teenage defense sensation, Kenneth Igboke, has described his meteoric rise from the club’s feeders team as a privilege which he hopes to guide and defend with all he has to ensure that the club achieves its set target for the season.
Igboke, who has not left anyone in doubt about his God-given talent in the round leather game after being thrown into the fray by coach Abdul Maikaba, is very optimistic that his primary desire of defending the colors of his boyhood club has been achieved and believes that winning trophies with the club is within reach.
The seventeen years old left-back who has the ability to join an attack to provide inch-perfect crosses, said in an exclusive chat, “I feel so happy because it is not easy for a young boy like me who came up from the feeders’ team and been my first time of playing in the NPFL under coach Abdul Maikaba.
It is a dream come true for me as I have been longing to play for my childhood team, Rangers International F.C. before taking my career to the outside world.
Talking about challenges, I have not experienced any challenges in the games I have been selected to play and I don’t believe there will be but if any comes, I hope to handle it well.”
He further stated, “I wish to give my very best in every match that I am selected to play until we achieve our set target for the season which is to become champions of the league and participate in continental competitions.”
Igboke has been a revelation since coach Maikaba saddled him with the task of manning the left-back position in the goalless draw the team got off Niger Tornadoes in a match day 4, NPFL fixture and the 1-0 victory over Dakkada F.C in a match day 5 encounter and hopes to keep his position going into match day 6 fixture in Bauchi against Wikki Tourists F.C.
