In the men’s final, Lagos defeated Ondo State 3-1 in a four-set contest, winning 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, 25-20.

Lagos regained control in the third set, winning 25-20, before sealing the championship with another 25-20 victory in the fourth set.
The women’s final was an even closer encounter, with Lagos overcoming Oyo State 3-2 in a five-set thriller.
Lagos won the opening set 25-18, but Oyo responded with a 25-22 victory in the second. Lagos then edged a tense third set 28-26 before Oyo forced a deciding set with a 25-16 win in the fourth.
Lagos held their nerve in the tie-break, winning 15-8 to claim the women’s title, with Oyo finishing as runners-up.
The double triumph means Lagos will represent the South West in both the men’s and women’s volleyball events at the 2026 National Sports Festival in Enugu.
Chairman of the Lagos State Volleyball Association, Kayode Ladele, dedicated the victories to the state government, the Lagos State Sports Commission and the people of Lagos.
‘We dedicate this win to the Lagos State Government, Lagos State Sports Commission and the good people of Lagos State. I thank the players and coaches for getting the job done,’ Ladele said.
He added that attention would now turn to preparations for the National Sports Festival.
‘Our next focus is now to get the players ready for Enugu with the support of the Lagos State Sports Commission.’
