Lampard: Iwobi to undergo late fitness test Saturday for Southampton game
Everton boss hoping for shock selection boost
Frank Lampard has admitted Alex Iwobi could feature for Everton against Southampton.
The midfielder suffered ankle ligament damage in last week’s loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup.
Iwobi had been expected to be sidelined for three weeks. But Lampard revealed Iwobi will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Saturday’s game to see if he can feature.
Everton manager Lampard said: ‘It’s a lesser injury than what we thought so we’ll see if he’s ready to play in the morning.’
Iwobi had tweeted after the injury he would be back soon.
