Leeds United Vs Nottingham Forest: Aina Set for 100th Premier League Appearance
Ola Aina is on the brink of a major career milestone as Nottingham Forest prepare to face Leeds United at Elland Road in Friday night’s Premier League fixture. Any appearance for the Nigerian defender will mark his 100th outing in the competition.
The 29-year-old has featured 99 times in the Premier League across three clubs. He has played 65 matches for Forest, scoring three goals, made 31 appearances for Fulham with two goals, and turned out three times for Chelsea without finding the net.
Friday’s clash will also represent his 70th appearance for Forest in all competitions, having scored three times in his 69 games so far.
Aina’s season has been disrupted by a hamstring injury that sidelined him for around three months, restricting him to just eight league appearances and ruling him out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
He will be making his third appearance against Leeds across all competitions, still searching for his first win against the Yorkshire side after losing the only Premier League meeting he has featured in.
Across his 99 Premier League games, Aina has accumulated 8,096 minutes, made 150 tackles, 112 interceptions, and completed 3,401 passes. He has scored five goals and provided three assists in the competition. Remarkably, he has never been sent off, though he has received 13 yellow cards and committed 81 fouls.
As Forest look to end a run of three winless matches, Aina’s landmark appearance could provide added motivation for both player and club in their push for points at Elland Road.
