Liverpool Echo: ‘Iwobi Clearly Everton’s Best Player On The Pitch Vs Nothingham Forest’

Alex Iwobi has been hailed as Everton’s best player in Saturday’s Premier League game against Nothingham Forest at Goodison Park.

The Toffees, through a late, late Demarai Gray goal rescued a point to gain their first Premier League point of the season but the Nigerian was the cynosure of all eyes once again.

Liverpool Echo, the city’s most widely read and popular newspaper says Iwobi has been fantastic for Everton this term and rated him eight out of a possible 10 marks.

‘ Clearly Everton’s best player on the pitch once again. Whether that’s making 70-yard runs to track back and stop a Forest attack or by threading intricate through-balls to his teammates.

‘He was so close to bagging what would have been the winner with a curled effort onto the roof of the net at the end as well,’ wrote the newspaper of Iwobi.

According to Squawka, Iwobi won 100% of his duels and completed 100% of his take-ons in the first half of the game viz: 4/4 duels won, 2/2 take-ons completed.

The 26 year old Nigerian also won possession more times than any other player (11).

The Super Eagles star made his 100th appearance for the Toffees across all competitions. It was his 86th in the Premier League for Everton and 186 overall since he made his debut in the competition in October 2015.
