Lookman ready to battle Osimhen for Serie A top scorer award
Ademola Lookman says he is ready to fight his compatriot, Victor Osimhen for the Serie A top scorer award for the 2022/23 season.
The two Nigerians are 1 and 2 in the top scorers chart so far in the competition with Lookman (11 goals) second behind Osimhen (13 goals) but the Atalanta forward who has netted a brace in each of his last three games for his club believes he is not done scoring yet.
Asked by The Athletic newspaper if they contact each other after scoring, the 25 year says they haven’t been doing that. ‘Nah, not when he’s above you, anyway’, laughs the Atalanta hitman.
The newspaper further asked if he feels he can catch the Napoli forward. ‘I will catch him,’ he replies. ‘Not I might, I will.’. Lookman will be seeking to make score at least another brace when Atalanta host Sampdoria at the Gewiss stadium on Saturday while Osimhen will be eager to score his second goal against AS Roma in five appearances on Sunday.
