Lookman to battle Svilar for Europa League player of the week
Atalanta forward, Ademola Lookman will battle AS Roma goalkeeper, Mile Svilar for the Europa League player of the week following the conclusion of the semifinal, second leg games of the competition.

Lookman was instrumental to Atalanta qualifying for their first European Cup final, beating Marseille 3-0 for a 4-1 on aggregate score while Svilar’s heroics almost saw AS Roma overcome a 2-0 first leg deficit but came up short against Victor Boniface’s Bayer Leverkusen who staged a late rally to end game at 2-2 and extend unbeaten run to 49 games.

The Nigerian had a total of three attempts on goal from where he scored one, the opening game of the encounter on 30 minutes. He also provided an assist in the 52nd minute which increased Atalanta’s lead to 3-1 on aggregate having drawn the first leg in Marseille 1-1 last week.

Svilar, on the other hand, stood between Leverkusen and goals, making a total of 12 saves labit he later succumbed to pressure like the rest of his colleagues to allow the host on the night to qualify 402 on aggregate.
