Omonia goalkeeper produced a man of the match display

Uzoho’s career-changing performance of the night would delight Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro as the 23 year old almost denied Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United the chance to get the much needed three points in their Europa League clash at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils created chance, after chance, after chance and they either couldn’t hit the target or couldn’t put it past goalkeeper Uzoho who produced a man of the match display.

Marcus Rashford alone could have scored four goals but for the Nigerian

Manchester United attempted 34 shots in this game, the highest total for any team in a single match in the Europa League this season.

Marcus Rashford had 10 of them, again the highest total by a player in the competition in 2022-23.

But in the 93rd minute, McTominay finally found a way past Uzoho

The game was Uzoho’s second in the competition after coming on a as second half substiute for Fabiano Ribeiro de Freitas in Omonia’s 3-0 opening group game loss to visiting FC Sheriff Tiraspol at the GSP Stadium in September.
