Man United set unwanted UCL record, booted out of competition as Arsenal avoid Bayern and Real Madrid

Manchester United were booted out of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League season on Tuesday night in front of their fans at Old Trafford after they lost 1-0 to
Bayern Munich in their final group A game.

The Red Devils won just one of the six games they played and lost two of the three away and two at home.

Ten Hag and his men also set an unwanted record by an English team in the history of the competition after conceding 15 goals, the most ever by a Premier
League side in a single group stage in the competition.

Manchester United are bottom of the group that also had Danish side, Copenhangen and Turkish Super Lig side, Galatasaray and which means their adventure to
Europe is effectively over as they failed to drop sown to the Europa League.

They are thus the first Premier League side to finish bottom of their UCL group on two occasions (also 2005/06).

Meanwhile, Arsenal will avoid Real Madrid and Bayern Munich after topping their group with 13 points, four more than Dutch Eredivise side, PSV Eindhoven.

This means the Gunners, as group leaders will not be drawn against such European heavweights as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

They make likely face Victor Osimhen’s Napoli who finished second behind Real Madrid in their group, Inter Milan and RB Leipzig.
