Manchester City Target Bounce-Back As EPL Returns To DStv, GOtv

Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from their midweek UEFA Champions League defeat when they host Ipswich Town as Premier League action returns to DStv and GOtv this weekend.

Following a dramatic week of European football, attention returns to domestic action, with several clubs seeking to build momentum or recover from disappointing results.

Everton host Chelsea at 12:30pm on Saturday, with the visitors hoping to build on their 5-1 win over Bournemouth after going three games without a victory. Everton, meanwhile, drew 2-2 with Hull City in their last outing.

The match, alongside other Premier League fixtures, will be broadcast live on SS Premier League (DStv Channel 203, GOtv Channel 65).

Liverpool welcome Brentford at 3:00pm, seeking to recover from their 3-0 league defeat to Manchester City. Their 6-3 UEFA Champions League victory over LASK in midweek should provide a confidence boost, although Brentford will also be eager to build on their 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.

At the same time, Manchester City host Ipswich, aiming to maintain their perfect Premier League start after beating Liverpool 3-0. City, however, suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Europe and will be determined to respond in front of their fans.

Ipswich arrive in Manchester following a 2-1 victory over Fulham. The encounter will air live on SS Football (DStv Channel 205, GOtv Channel 61).

Newcastle United face Aston Villa at 5:30pm, with the hosts hoping to recover from a 4-1 defeat to Coventry. Villa, meanwhile, were held to a 2-2 draw by Brentford in their last outing.

Sunday’s action begins at 2:00pm, with Brighton hosting Crystal Palace and Leeds United welcoming Manchester United.

Brighton head into their encounter after beating Sunderland 2-0, while Palace secured a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. Leeds will be eager to respond after their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal, while Manchester United are seeking to end a difficult run of form.

United drew with Tottenham before suffering a 2-0 defeat to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, leaving them with just one win in their last five matches across all competitions.

At 4:30pm, Forest host Arsenal, who have responded positively to their first league defeat with a 2-1 win over Leeds and a 3-0 Champions League victory over Lille. Forest, meanwhile, will be looking to get back on track after their 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

The weekend’s Premier League action concludes on Monday at 8:00pm, when Tottenham Hotspur host Coventry City.

Spurs are still searching for consistency after drawing 1-1 with Manchester United, while Coventry will travel with confidence following their emphatic 4-1 victory over Newcastle.

Fans can follow the Premier League action live on DStv and GOtv, with matches available across SS Premier League and SS Football.
