Maresca declares Ndidi’s now now fully fit and may start at Hull City

Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca says Wilfred Ndidi is now fully fit and ready to play albeit the Nigerian was subbed on for the final 20 minutes of the
Foxes’ 1-0 win at Sunderland on Tuesday.

It was a surprise injury comeback for the Nigerian after Maresca admitted the 27 year old was not meant to play in the game.

While he was in the squad, it was not Maresca’s original intention to use Ndidi, who was making his first appearance in more than two months.

‘The other day, Wilf was with us just to be with the team,’ Maresca said.

‘The idea was not to give him any minutes. But because of the situation, because of the game, because Yunus (Akgun) was so tired, and because in this moment
we need to win games, he did an unbelievable effort to play 20 minutes.

‘Now he’s ready to play, but we’ll see tomorrow if he’s going to play from the start or if he will be on the bench,’ said Maresca.

Ndidi has scored twice and provided five assists in 22 games for the Foxes, his highest goal contribution in a season since he joined the club from Belgium
in January 2017.
