MS. BIBIAN ONWUGBOLU: SWAN COMMISERATES WITH RIVERS CHAPTER
The National Executive Committee (NEC) and the entire members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) commiserate with the Rivers State chapter of the Association over the death of our dedicated member, Ms. Bibian Onwugbolu.
Onwugbolu died on Saturday, 10th June, 2023 after a brief illness.
In his tribute, SWAN President, Dr. Honour Sirawoo described the deceased member as a dedicated and hard-working sports journalist who carved a niche for herself in her chosen profession.
Sirawoo further urged her immediate family as well as the Rivers State Chapter of the Association to accept the exit of Ms. Onwugbolu at this time as an act of God.
He noted that Ms. Onwugbolu made her mark by successfully covering many national and international championships both within and outside the country.
SWAN also appreciates all those who have been identifying with the Association at this mourning time especially the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) who on June 12th sent a condolence letter signed by the General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi.
We pray that the entire sports fraternity will no longer experience this kind of ugly news.
There is no doubt that the SWAN family will greatly miss the ever cheerful face of Ms. Bibian Onwugbolu.
It is our supplication that God will grant her gentle soul eternal rest.
