Napoli confident Osimhen will be fully fit to face Ajax on Tuesday
Serie A side, SSS Napoli are feeling confident their Nigerian import, Victor Osimhen could make his comeback to play against Ajax in the Champions League at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam on Tuesday.
The former Lille of france forward has been out of action since suffering a femoral bicep strain during the 4-1 win over Liverpool on September 7.
He was not in Napoli squad in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat of Torino in a Serie A game at the Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, but DAZN reports that Osimhen is recovering well.
They are even feeling confident he could be back for the Champions League trip to the Amsterdam Arena on Tuesday October 4.
Napoli are top of their Champions League group on six points, followed by Liverpool and Ajax on three apiece.
Osimhen had been able to contribute two goals and one assist in his six competitive appearances before the injury this season.
The Super Eagle will be looking to score his first Champions League goal for the club after netting twice in five appearances for Lille before switching to the Serie A.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup top scorer has scored 30 goals and bagged 10 assists in 68 games for Napoli across all competitions since he joined the club in September 2020.
