Napoli Vs Inter: Osimhen looking to score first goal against a Milan side
Victor Osimhen has scored 65 times in 113 games in the Serie A since he joined SSS Napoli in September 2020 from Ligue 1 side, Lille but none of the goals has come against the two Milan based teams, Inter and AC Milan.
The Nigerian has featured seven times against the two teams, five against Inter and two against the AC Milan and the only goal involvement he had was in February 2022 when he was fouled and Lorenzo Insigne took the resultant penalty for the 1-1 draw at the Diego Maradona stadium in Naples.
Osimhen will get another chance Sunday evening when his club, the defending Serie A champion host Inter Milan at the Diego Maradona stadium.
The 24 year old will be hoping he can find the back of the net to not only help his side secure a crucial win and move within six points of leaders Juventus at the top of the log, but also cut the deficit between him and Lautaro Martinez in the race to become the top Serie A goal scorer for the season.
Osimhen, the defending champion after scoring 26 times last season to become the first African to top scored in a Serie A season, has netted just six times this season in nine appearances to place third while the Argentinian, Martinez tops the chart with 13 goals.
