Ndidi could be out for weeks, doubtful for Eagles’ World Cup qualifiers

Enzo Maresa , Leicester City manager says Wilfred Ndidi could be out for weeks with a muscle problem.

Ndidi missed Tuesday evening’s victory over Sunderland and 2-1 win at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday and Maresca has now said he will be out for longer.

‘It looks a bit more than tightness that we thought at the beginning. Probably he has to stay out some days or weeks.

‘It’s not an important problem, but it is a muscle problem. We thought it was not important. It’s not a big thing, but at least for some days or some weeks, he’s going to be out,’ Maresca said.

Ndidi now looks a huge doubt for Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe in November.

If he fails to make it, Ndidi will become the third Nigerian top star that will be out of the games alongside Italy based duo of Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze.
