Ndidi Reveals New Besiktas Coach, Italiano’s Demands in Pre-Season Camp

Beşiktaş midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has spoken about the club’s new era under coach Vincenzo Italiano, praising the intensity of pre-season preparations and revealing the tactical demands being placed on the squad.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Ndidi highlighted the fresh energy brought by Italiano and his staff.

‘We have a new coach and technical team. I think the camp is going very well with their intense pace. We have an important time in the camp to understand our coach’s system,’ the Nigerian international said.

Ndidi emphasized that his role extends beyond the traditional number eight position.

‘It should not be limited to just number 8. I have to help the defense when defending and the offense when attacking,’ he explained.

The midfielder also shed light on Italiano’s offensive philosophy, noting that players are being encouraged to push forward collectively.

‘Our coach encourages us to enter the opponent’s penalty area. Their demands from us are very clear,’ Ndidi stated.

Reflecting on his personal journey, Ndidi recalled the early days when he played football secretly from his family.

‘I definitely had to be home when I knew my father was coming. This is actually part of the journey,’ he said, adding that he remains grateful for his career path.
