Newcastle Vs Fulham: Iwobi looking to equal Kanu’s assists record

Alex Iwobi will be seeking to either equal or surpass Kanu Nwankwo assists record in the Premier League when he files out with Fulham Saturday at St James’
Park against Newcastle United.

The 27 year old bagged his first assist of the season in Fulham’s 5-0 mauling of West Ham United last weekend to bring his total to 28, just one short of the
29 Kanu provided in 273 Premier League games.

The former Arsenal and Everton man whose seven assists last season were the most provided by a Nigerian in a single Premier League season could surpass
Kanu’s record if he bags two more on Saturday.

Iwobi will also be looking to score his fourth goal of the campaign to set a personal record of goals scored in a single Premier League season.

If he scores, it will be his second in nine games against Newcastle in the competition.

He will also move above Victor Moses into ninth in the Nigerian all-time scoring chart in the Premier League.
