NFF To Get Up To ₦945m Annually From CAF’s New Funding Package

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) could receive up to ₦945 million annually from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following an increase in financial support for its 54 member associations.
CAF president Patrice Motsepe announced a 33 per cent increase in annual subventions, raising the maximum allocation for each member association from $525,000 to $700,000.
At an exchange rate of ₦1,350 to the dollar, the new allocation translates to approximately ₦945 million, an increase of ₦236.25 million over the previous allocation of $525,000, worth about ₦708.75 million at the same exchange rate.
The increase forms part of CAF’s efforts to strengthen football development and administration across Africa, with the funding intended to support youth and women’s football, improve governance and expand development programmes.
The latest allocation represents a significant increase from the $200,000 annual subvention available to member associations when Motsepe assumed office in 2021.
However, the naira equivalent will depend on the exchange rate applied when the funds are converted, while the $700,000 represents the maximum annual allocation available to the NFF.
