NOC congratulates Badminton on impressive outing at African meet in Egypt

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has congratulated Francis Orbih, president, Badminton Federation of Nigerin (BFN) and their players on their impressive outing at the All African Seniors Badminton Championships 2024 held in Egypt.

A statement released by the NOC quotes NOC President, Engr. AHabu Gumel as saying: ”despite the loss in the final of the Men’s Team events’.

The team won a total of seven medals, including 1 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze.
By this, Nigeria has showcased their exceptional talent and dedication on the badminton court.

This remarkable feat is a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and skill of the Nigerian athletes.

Though the loss in the final was unfortunate, Orbih, the BFN president, acknowledged that in games, as well as in life, unforeseen circumstances can occur.

According to BFN president, the team’s ability to come so close to victory is truly commendable and serves as a source of inspiration for future endeavours.

He was also quoted as having extended his gratitude and appreciation to the players for their outstanding performances.

The NOC quotes Engr. Habu Gumel, its president as saying: ”Their dedication and commitment have brought pride and honour to Nigeria.

‘Their achievements will undoubtedly serve as a motivation for aspiring badminton players across the country.’
