NPFL: Shooting Stars chase first win of season to winless Bendel Insurance

Shooting Stars will kick off their loaded October campaign with a rescheduled Matchday 3 tie away to Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin.

The Oluyole Warriors defeated Emmanuel Amuneke’s Heartland of Owerri 1-0 in Ibadan at the weekend for their first win of the season in three games while their host, Insurance will be hoping to beat the visitors for their first win in four games.

Bendel Insurance drew their first home game of the season against Rivers United before travelling to Katsina to lose 2-1. The Godwin Obaseki boys however won their first away point of the season when they drew with Niger Tornadoes in Minna at the weekend.

Shooting Stars say they are however determined to win on Wednesday to start a loaded October with victory.

The ‘Makinde Boys’ will play six times this month with three home games and tree away games. After Wednesday’s game, they will be guest ofLobi Stars on Saturday.

A home game against Enyimba will follow on Sunday October 13 before travelling south south to Port Harcourt where they will face Finidi George’s Rivers United while a home game on Sunday October 27 against Kwara United will end a hectic October for the Ibadan side.

The team is however focusing on the game in Benin.
