Obioma named NPFL player of the month of February

Emeka Obioma who has been named player of the month of February by the League Bloggers award after he year old scored five times in five games in the month under review.

After firing blanks in Enyimba’s first game of the month of February, the 1-0 loss at Remo Stars, the 24 year old netted the two goals that propelled the Peoples Elephant to all three points when they hosted El-Kanemi Warriors in Aba.

Obioma was on song again, scoring once in Enyimba’s 2-1 away win at Gombe United before hitting his second brace of the season in the 2-0 defeat of Oluyole Warriors, Shooting Stars of Ibadan in Aba.

The Enyimba striker has featured nine times in the NPFL so far this season and has scored seven goals to bring his total haul in competition history to 32 in 77 appearances (according to transfermarkt).

Enyimba coach, Finidi George will be banking on the striker when they host table-topping Bendel Insurance in Abia when the NPFL resumes in almost two weeks time.
