Offers Rain in from Turkey After Iheanacho’s Celtic Departure

Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has officially closed his chapter with Celtic after the Scottish champions opted not to extend his contract.

The 29-year-old forward, who played a pivotal role in Celtic’s title-winning campaign, has now become a free agent and is attracting strong interest from Turkish clubs.

Iheanacho joined Celtic last season on a 1+1-year deal following his departure from Sevilla.

Despite his impact in crucial matches, particularly as a late substitute, the club chose not to exercise the extension option.

His absence from Celtic’s first pre-season training session confirmed his exit, with the player currently continuing individual training in Nigeria.

Reports from the Scottish press, notably SunSport, indicate that Iheanacho has already received multiple offers from Turkey, while interest from other European clubs is also emerging.

During the past season, Iheanacho featured in 24 matches, logging 890 minutes of play. He scored nine goals and provided one assist, often delivering decisive contributions in the closing stages of games.
