Ofili may make Diamond League debut in Xiamen in April as diamond disciplines published

Following her incredible performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics and her growing stature in track and field worldwide, Favour Ofili may make her Diamond League debut in Xiamen, China on April 26, 2025, following the unveiling of the Diamond Disciplines by organizers of the Wanda Diamond League.

The women’s 200m will be one of the events at the opening leg of the elite one-day meeting series in athletics which comprises 15 of the most prestigious events in global track and field, crossing four continents and 13 different countries to reach athletics fans in all corners of the world.

Like she did this year, Tobi Amusan may also decide to start her qualification for the Diamond League final in Xiamen as the 100m hurdles is one of the seven women events listed for the meeting.

If Samuel Ogazi decides to go professionals, he could also make his debut in Xiamen, same as Nathaniel Ezekiel as the 400m and 400m hurdles are among the seven men’s events to be competed for in the Chinese city.

Ofili and Amusan can stay in China for another week if they compete in Xiamen as their events are also listed when the Diamond League train makes its second of scheduled 15 stops in Shanghai or Suzhou.

The train them moves to Doha and Udodi Onwuzurike cold make his Diamond League debut there in the 200m where he set a 19.75 lifetime best in 2022.

Rabat in Morocco will host the fourth leg of the event on May 25 and this gives Chukwuebuka Enekwechi the chance to start on another journey of making it to the final like he did in 2024 before the train moves to the Golden Gala in Rome on June 6, 2025.

Ese Brume will get her chance for her season’s debut on June 15 in Stockholm where the women’s long jump will make its entry for the 2025 edition.
