Oghenebrume drops out of the Bowerman’s top 10 mid-indoor watch list, Ashe mentioned

Sprinter Godson Oghenebrume has dropped out of the Bowerman’s 2024 men’s mid-indoor watch list, exactly a month after making his first appearance in the top 10 list.

Last month, Oghenebrume made the Bowerman’s preseason watch list following his impressive perfromances last year, culminating in the NCAA outdoor silver medal in the 100m and running a 9.92 lifetime best.

Since then, the 20 year has not hit the ground running this indoor season, running a 21.40 personal season’s best over the 200m at the Corky Classics in Lubbock, Texas.

The Louisiana State University student still managed to be among nine men who still received votes and are still in contention for the Bowerman honour, an annual award presented to the most outstanding athletes in collegiate track and field.

Also making his entry into the Bowerman award list albeit he is not among the definitive 10 that are considered is Favour Ashe.

Ashe has been arrested after he was accused of multiple counts of theft and fraud.

It is not certain what the fate of the 23 year old will be after his arrest but Ashe had a great start in his collegiate indoor campaign, running 6.53 prsonal season’s best over the 60m event.
