Ola Aina named in Alan Shearer’s Premier League Team of The Week

Nothingham Forest defender Ola Aina has been named in Alan Shearer’s Premier League team of the week following the Nigerian’s man-of-the-match performance in his club’s 2-0 defeat of Aston Villa at the weekend.

Aina, who started his seventh Premier League game of the season scored Nothingham Forest’s first goal of the game which is his third in 42 games.

Shearer believes Aina was one of the best defenders at the weekend in the Premier League and named him in his back four in a 4-3-3 formation.

‘He (Ola Aina) displayed great technique to score against Emiliano Martinez from that range, and defended well to keep a clean sheet,’ wrote Shearer, the Premier League record goalscorer (260) and Hall of Fame inductee.

Ola Aina also helped Nothingham Forest keep their second clean sheet of the season and his first in eight appearances.

Overall, the Nigerian has now kept eight clean sheets in 42 Premier League appearances.
