Omolara Ogunmakinju injured and out of World Athletics Relays?

Reports coming out of Nassau, the capital city of Bahamas says Omolara Ogunmakinju is out of the World Athletics Relays which begins later Saturday evening.

Ogunmakinju has been listed to compete for the Nigerian 4x400m Mixed relay Team and the Women’s 4x400m Relay Team but the 30 year old reportedly got injured at her school’s confederence in meet in Michigan Friday and may be out of the events in the Bahamas.

SportsNow has not been able to confirm the injury report but if itis confirmed, it means Nigeria will not have a team to run in the women’s 4x400m as they will have only three athletes left viz Brittany Ogunmokun, Elo Joseph and Ella Onojuvwevwo.

Patience Okon George could not get a visa at the USA Embassy in Abuja and esther Okon is injured.

The 2024 World Relays is serving as the major qualifying event for the Paris Olympics with as many as 14 of the 16 nations that will competing at the Olympics this summer emerging from this competition.
