Onuachu Brace Fires Trabzonspor To 5-0 Rout Of Genclerbirligi

Paul Onuachu opened his account with a brace as Trabzonspor stormed to a 5-0 victory over Genclerbirligi in the fourth week of the Turkish Super League on Sunday.

Onuachu set the tone for a dominant performance at Papara Park, heading Trabzonspor into the lead in the fifth minute before doubling the advantage in the 22nd minute. Mohamed Salah added a third from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, while Ernest Muci and substitute Franculino Dju completed the rout in the second half.

The Nigerian striker’s second goal came after Pina’s low cross was initially dealt with by the Genclerbirligi defence, with Onuachu reacting quickest to fire the ball into the net and put Trabzonspor 3-0 ahead.

Onuachu was forced off in the 43rd minute after suffering an injury, with new signing Dju coming on in his place. Despite his early departure, the 31-year-old had already made a decisive impact on the contest by scoring twice.

Muci extended Trabzonspor’s lead in the 59th minute after converting Salah’s pass, before Dju marked his debut with a goal in the 78th minute to complete the 5-0 win.

The emphatic victory moved Trabzonspor onto seven points from four matches, level with Genclerbirligi. Trabzonspor will next travel to face Konyaspor in the fifth week of the league.
