Onuachu Nears First-Season Goal Record at Trabzonspor

Paul Onuachu is proving once again why he has become such a key figure for Trabzonspor.
The Nigerian striker, who made a big impact during his loan spell in the 2023/2024 season, is already close to matching that performance in his first full season with the club.
Back then, he scored 15 goals in 21 league matches. Now, with 11 goals in just 14 weeks, he is only four goals away from equaling his debut tally.
This season, Onuachu has been more consistent, avoiding the injuries and international absences that disrupted his rhythm previously.
His scoring average has even improved, rising from 0.71 goals per game in his first season to 0.78 now. He currently leads the Süper Lig scoring charts with 11 goals, ahead of Başakşehir’s Shomurodov on 10.
Onuachu’s contribution has been vital for Trabzonspor. He has scored 44 percent of the team’s goals so far, with his strikes directly influencing results, Trabzonspor collected 21 points from the nine matches in which he found the net.
From opening week winners against Kocaelispor to his recent brace against Konyaspor, Onuachu has been the difference-maker.
In total, he has now scored 28 goals in 39 official matches for Trabzonspor across all competitions. With 20 league weeks still to play, it looks almost certain that he will surpass his first-season numbers and cement his place as one of the most decisive strikers in the league.
