Onyedika Joins Eintracht Frankfurt on Six-Year Deal

Eintracht Frankfurt have officially completed the signing of Nigeria international Raphael Onyedika from Belgian side Club Brugge KV, with the midfielder signing a contract that runs until June 30, 2031.

The 25-year-old defensive midfielder will wear the number 25 shirt as he embarks on a new chapter in the Bundesliga after a highly successful four-year spell in Belgium.

Onyedika arrives in Germany with an impressive record, having won two Belgian league titles, the Belgian Cup and Belgian Super Cup with Club Brugge, in addition to lifting the Danish Cup during his time with FC Midtjylland.

Across his senior career, he has made 268 competitive appearances, including 24 UEFA Champions League matches over the past three seasons.

A key figure for both club and country, the Super Eagles midfielder has earned 26 senior international caps for Nigeria and represented the country at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, played in 2024.

His consistency has been reflected in his remarkable availability, featuring in 40, 49, 52 and 42 matches respectively during his four seasons at Club Brugge.

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche praised the Nigerian’s qualities, describing him as an important addition to the club’s future plans.

“Raphael Onyedika convinces us not only with his robustness and his strategic understanding of the game, but above all with his extraordinary consistency,” Krösche said.

“In recent years, he has been a regular player throughout and celebrated numerous title wins in Belgium. In addition, he has valuable international experience.

“At the age of 25, he continues to have great development potential and is also an important building block for the structure of our squad.”
