Oruma: Nnadi Will Bring Grit and Freshness to Marseille

Former Nigeria international Wilson Oruma has thrown his support behind Tochukwu Nnadi, insisting the young midfielder has what it takes to succeed at Marseille.

Nnadi joined the French giants in the winter transfer window from Belgian side Zulte Waregem, and Oruma, who himself once wore Marseille’s colours, believes the Nigerian will inject energy and resilience into the squad.

In an interview with Africa Foot, via Onze Mondial, Oruma described Nnadi as ‘a hard-working player, admirable in his physical power and athleticism. He’s a young player with stamina who can cover several spaces on the field.’

He added: ‘He possesses an aggression that allows him to win back a lot of balls. He has a good right foot that gives him the ability to restart play effectively and support attacking moves.’

Oruma stressed that Marseille’s demanding environment could help Nnadi grow further: ‘He’s a young player, and I think he’ll use the pressure in Marseille to develop his game. One thing is certain: Tochukwu will bring grit, freshness, and a carefree attitude to the Marseille midfield.’

However, he cautioned that the 20-year-old must refine his energy management.

‘Certainly, he brings a certain intensity to his team’s game through repeated efforts, but he sometimes overdoes it with his over-commitment,’ Oruma warned.

Nnadi could make his debut on Sunday when Marseille travel to face champions PSG at the Parc des Princes.
