Osimhen Becomes Second-Fastest Player To Reach 50 Süper Lig Goals

Victor Osimhen has achieved another remarkable milestone in Turkish football, becoming the second-fastest player to score 50 goals in the Süper Lig.

The Nigerian striker reached the landmark on Friday night, opening the scoring in Galatasaray’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Konyaspor as the defending champions maintained their two-point advantage at the top of the table.

Osimhen needed just 60 league appearances to reach 50 goals, eight more than Galatasaray legend Metin Oktay, who holds the record after achieving the feat in only 52 matches across the 1958/59 and 1959/60 seasons.

The 27-year-old has also established himself among Galatasaray’s most prolific recent attacking players since joining from Napoli, having scored 69 goals in 84 appearances across all competitions.

His latest achievement further underlines his importance to the Istanbul giants, with the Nigerian international already among the top 10 goalscorers in the club’s history.

Osimhen is also enjoying another productive league campaign, sharing the Süper Lig scoring lead with fellow Nigerian Gift Orban, with both forwards having scored nine goals.

The former Napoli striker has won two league titles since joining Galatasaray and continues to strengthen his reputation among the club’s supporters.

According to Transfermarkt, Mbaye Diagne is the third-fastest player to reach 50 Süper Lig goals, requiring 62 appearances across spells with four different clubs.

Former Fenerbahçe attacking midfielder Alex de Souza and Greek striker Theofanis Gekas complete the top five in the ranking.
