Osimhen Chasing Galatasaray Euro Record in Manchester City Clash

Galatasaray will complete their UEFA Champions League league stage campaign with a decisive fixture away to Manchester City, and all eyes will be on star striker Victor Osimhen as he looks to etch his name into the club’s history books.
The Nigerian forward, now in his second season with the Istanbul giants, has scored 12 goals in 12 European matches. That tally places him level with Milan Baros and Shabani Nonda as the foreign players with the most goals for Galatasaray in continental competition.
Having already surpassed Mario Jardel and Gheorghe Hagi, who each netted 11, Osimhen will become the outright record holder if he finds the net at the Etihad Stadium.
Galatasaray, nicknamed the yellow-reds, are aiming to finish inside the top 16 of the new 36-team Champions League league phase. Victory against City would strengthen their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds, while Osimhen’s goalscoring form could prove decisive.
The 27-year-old has been in prolific form since joining Galatasaray, and his ability to deliver on the biggest stage has made him the focal point of Okan Buruk’s side.
His record-breaking opportunity adds further intrigue to a match already loaded with significance, as Galatasaray seek to upset Pep Guardiola’s team in Manchester.
