Osimhen escapes fine, gets Balotelli backing for outburst

Victor Osimhen will not be sanctioned by Napoli after having a confrontation with manager Rudi Garcia at the weekend.

The 24 year old argued with Garcia about why he should’ve kept him on and the fact that the Frenchman should’ve played two upfront when the side needed a
goal.

According to Italian sports paper, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli has decided against punishing their Nigerian import after he apologised on Monday to both
the coach and his teammates.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that ‘Osimhen made it clear to the Napoli squad that he didn’t mean to disrespect Garcia and the manager was present during
the meeting. He stated that against Bologna, he was desperate to win the game and wanted to make sure that he redeems himself after missing a penalty.’

Meanwhile, former Man City forward, Mario Balotelli believes Garcia and the rest of Napoli team should be happy Osimhen was angry with his substitution and
that it should be viewed from the positive perspective.

Balotelli who signed for Turkish Super Lig side, Adana Demirspor last week and netted 42 times in 141 Serie A games says he understands why Osimhen acted the
way he did against Bologna.

‘That substitution can be very annoying. I would be worried when Kvara and Osimhen come out and are calm. If they come out angry, it means they still have
desire to win,’ Balotelli said in an interview as guest on the TvPlay Twitch channel.
